“Welcoming Liliana Rodrigues: The Newest Member of our Scientific and Professional Panel”

We are delighted to introduce Liliana Rodrigues, the latest addition to the esteemed Scientific and Professional Panel of the SSADNetwork. Liliana brings a wealth of expertise in education, research, and policy to our network, and her dedication to community development is a valuable asset.

Liliana Rodrigues currently holds the position of Associate Professor with Aggregation at the University of Madeira (UMa) in Portugal. Her impressive academic background includes a Doctorate and Master’s degree in Education, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from FCSH at UNL.

In her academic career, Liliana has achieved remarkable milestones, including serving as President of the Faculty of Social Sciences at UMa since 2022, stepping in as the Interim President of the Ethics Committee at UMa, previously holding the role of Scientific Coordinator of Education at UMa, serving as Vice-President of the Canter for Research in Education/FCT (CIE-UMa) and leading the research line in Community Development. She also takes on the responsibility of directing the Doctoral Courses in Curriculum and Pedagogical Innovation, as well as the Master’s course in Education and Community Development at UMa. Additionally, Liliana has shared her knowledge and insights as a guest lecturer at universities in Spain, Brazil, and Lithuania.

Liliana Rodrigues is not only an accomplished academic but also deeply engaged in research and policy. She actively contributes as a researcher at CIE-UMa/FCT and previously held a research fellowship in Austria. She served as a member of the European Parliament from 2014 to 2019, reflecting her commitment to European policy, and maintains her connection to European policy at FMAEP. She is also a valued member of the Independent Experts Group of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.

Furthermore, Liliana actively supports education and science advocacy, taking on the role of Coordinator of the Education, Science, and Higher Education Observatory at SEDES Madeira.
